Terry Solomon, B.S.

Terry Solomon is currently a graduate student in the Biomedical Science PhD program at the University of California, San Diego. Terry received her BS in 2013 from the Rochester Institute of Technology for a dual degree in Biomedical Science and Biotechnology, with a minor in German language. At RIT, she worked in Dr. Dina Newman’s laboratory, genotyping SNPs to determine associations with age-related hearing loss. She then spent six months living in Germany, working at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in the lab of Dr. Diethard Tautz. In Dr. Tautz’s lab, Terry investigated the functional effects of mutations in the XPR1 gene that might have caused it to be under selective pressure in one population, but not another, of wild house mice. She joined Dr. Kelly Frazer’s laboratory in April of 2014.
