Carl graduated in 2016 from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s degree in General Engineering, concentrating in Bioengineering, and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, concentrating in Regenerative Medicine through the CIRM Bridges Program. Carl researched the functional performance of artificial tissues engineered without pre-generated scaffolds for therapeutic and in vitro testing applications with primary human cells and cells derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Carl joined the Frazer lab in 2016 as a part of the CARDiPS Project studying the genetic variability in cardiomyocytes derived from human iPSCs.
