Dr. Andre Luchessi graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He obtained his PhD in November 2011, from the Department of Clinical and Toxicology Analysis, of the University of Sao Paulo. He is an Assistant Professor of Department of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis at the Federal University of Rio Grande de Norte. The focus of his thesis was to engage in a Pharmacogenomics study of antiplatelet agents in percutaneous coronary angioplasty and stent implantation. As of late, he has been applying human genomics research such as genotyping technologies, mRNA and miRNA expression analysis, molecular biology, in vitro cells assay and data analysis for discovery of how genomics variation can influence disease phenotypes and be considered as a potential Biomarker. He joined Dr. Frazer's group in May 2017 as a Visiting Researcher to study the specific genomic signature of Atrial Fibrillation using with model iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes cells for discovery new biomarkers, therapeutics, and pharmacogenomics targets for diseases.
