Naomi graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland in 2010. After graduating, Naomi spent a year as a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the National Cancer Institute where she was involved in a functional genomics project investigating pancreatic cancer susceptibility. Currently, Naomi is a PhD student in the UC San Diego Biomedical Sciences graduate program. Since Naomi joined the Frazer lab in July 2012, she has worked on the role of genetic variation in an enhancer-rich gene desert implicated in Type-II Diabetes. Naomi is broadly interested in using functional genomics to investigate the role of genetic variation in human disease.
