Margaret is a graduate student in the Biomedical Informatics program at the University of California, San Diego. In 2013, she graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BS degree in Bioengineering and a minor in Bioinformatics. At UCSC, she conducted thesis research in Dr. Amy Ralston's lab, focused on characterizing the effects of age on the functionality of iPSC derived fibroblasts. After graduation, she joined Illumina, Inc. where she worked in the Protein Engineering Group to develop informatics tools to better assess the performance of novel sequencing enzymes. In 2016, Margaret joined Dr. Kelly Frazer's lab at UCSD, where she is interested in developing new computational strategies to integrate and mine genomic data, to better understand how genetic variation impacts diseases.
